By my rough calculations, that's about 50 cents on the dollar when compared to new. A good deal, indeed. I've managed to accumulate most of what I have at auctions for in the 10-30 cent on the dollar range. That 8800 bucks is still a fine deal, though. I have no doubt that when an interested buyer went to this fella's place, there'd be a ton more miscellaneous items that could be thrown in for just a couple bucks more.
