Happened upon a Siemens meter/breaker combo and saw a factory tag at a grounding lug: "Not for Use on Northeast Utility"

Just curious, is this reference to the Utility Co itself and assuming it addresses not attaching a grounding electrode conductor in there meter compartment ?

There are a lot of utility companies that have specific rules and have meter cans made to their rewuirements. Have seen a lot marked for use on Commonwealth Edison, one of the major utilities in Illinois. The other major is Ameren and they have different rules and the meter can used in northern Illinois for CE can't be used downstate for Ameren.

I would suspect that is true. most utilities around here don't allow the GEC in the meter socket

The utility now known as Eversource has been through several mergers and name changes over the last decade. It was called Northeast Utilities from 2012 to 2015, when NSTAR (Boston area), WMECO (Western MA), CT Light and Power, PSNH and several other utilities in New England merged. This is most likely a reference to a document made during this time, when the utility would've been called "Northeast Utilities". The name changed in 2015 to Eversource. Even with the merger, the utility standards and policies from the regional predecessors are still likely to apply.

After a week of design time and trying to source parts for a service change involving solar and an eventual EV charger or two, PSE&G informed me that they don't allow meter/main combos. They're "illegal" to use, because... reasons. No one apparently knows why, as the spec was written over 30 years ago and no one has ever changed it.

PoCo's are weird. Oh, well... back to the drawing board.
