I have always shied away from combo tools. In high school 7-11 had a tool bin I remember the combination hammer, screwdriver pliers..JUNK and that thought stuck with me. Even the wonder multi tool knives out now of which I have received several as gifts sit in my desk drawer.

Is this a spamer?

I am not a fan of combination tools either.

I got a Paladin combination tools with the SOG blade as
a gift. While I almost never use it, I was impressed by
the finish and sharpness on the SOG blade. The leather
case was junk. I had to replace the two pop rivets.
If you prefer a pocket knife, the SOG is probably pretty
good. I just use a utility knife.

I was given a Leatherman as a gift a few years ago, and, while I never use it for work, it is a handy thing to have around at other times.

I would not consider it as a substitute for regular tools, but it has come in handy in a pinch.

I have the leather mini tool there.
It works. I used it to test it out.
So if I'm ever without something, I have a back-up.
Sog knife is coming.

I still have my original Leatherman in quite good condtion. It comes in handy on occasion, but I don't rely on it as a day-to-day make-money tool.

I much prefer MacGuyvers' Mulit-Task-Tool, however:

Throw in a gum wrapper, the spring from and old ball point pen, a wood kitchen match and some hair from a Barbie? doll, and you've got a complete tool kit!

Add to that a one man kayak and a 7-11 Big Gulp drinkin straw and you got a 1 man nuclear powered submarine.

Toss is a 2x12 and an old Realistic FlavoRadio, and you've got the carrier Harry S. Truman. :)
