NPLFA conductors - stranded

I'm looking for NPLFA cable for an Emergency Voice Alarm non-power limited speaker circuit. I would like to specify an unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) cable with stranded conductors. However, I cannot find anything except solid conductor-UTP. It seems that stranded conductors are only available for PLFA UTP cable. Anyone out there know of NPLFA UTP cable with stranded conductors?

Re: NPLFA conductors - stranded

I couldn't find a source. I'm curious what the insulation type is. Just looking at table 310.13 I'm assuming you're application is for a dry location (just a guess). I'm sure you've thought of it but can't you use a different wire type?

Re: NPLFA conductors - stranded

Why stranded? Typically speaker circuits are run with 16-2 twisted solid. Unless run in the same raceway with visual or data loops.

Re: NPLFA conductors - stranded

Stranded is preferred by our electricians (easier to work with). Also, there are some runs that will be in the same conduit as strobe circuit(s)...but this has no bearing on the stranded vs solid choice. I have since found some Belden NPLF UTP stranded (19x29) cables. It is also listed as 600V tray cable. I can find no restrictions to installing this type of cable in conduit.
