Re: (NPLFA) & (PLFA) Systems

A NPLFA system is esentially a Class 1 circuit and, is limited to 600V maximum and, has no power or current limitations.

A PLFA has both power and voltage limitations as listed in Tables 12(A) or (B) depending on you voltage source. These tables break PLFA circuits into two categories. An inherently limited circuit is limited to 100V and 100VA. Inherently limited means that the power supply is designed to interrupt power on the load side when an overcurrent condition becomes present on the load side. The other is a not-inherently limited circuit which is limited to 150V and 100VA. A not-inherently limited circuit requires overcurrent protection on the load side of the power source.
