I am reluctant to raise the question again because of the previous posts on this subject, but I just can't help myself.
I have always been of the opinion that the 180VA per outlet was for calculation purposes only. However, Exhibit 220.4 (Page 117) of the 2008 Handbook clearly shows that the 180VA per outlet also limits the actual number of receptacle outlets installed on one circuit.
It makes no sense to me.
