I encountered a different "view point" of 230-2(C) this week that I thought was interesting.
For many years, I had enforced this as: Once you had a service greater than 2000 amps, you could add a second service to the building (same characteristics). A fellow inspector allowed a job with (2) 1200 services on the same building (not grouped). At first I thought it was a violation, but as he said in reading 230-2, it says "where the capacity requirements are in excess of 2000 amps" not a service.
Perhaps I'm the only one who followed the rule differently, but I thought I'd bring it up here since this ol dog learned a new trick.
