Nurse Call System

We have a construction project going on at the hospital where I work, and yesterday I noticed a singal box inside every patient room shower, and I had to ask (what in-the-world is that for ? ) Reply It for the Emergency Pull Station for the nurse call system a 24 volt system. I can not found it in the code book but this is got to be a violation of some kind. Can anyone help ?

I agree, I have installed similar nurse call pull stations in a shower. The pull string button was listed for use in a shower and was sealed with no exposed conductive surfaces.

Crest even makes an Emergency Cord for wet locations...ie: Shower.
