Is anyone aware of testing requirements for these systems after installation in order to get certification? I'm thinking of testing criteria similar to what you would find in NFPA 72 for fire alarm systems.

This is what I could find. This is not complete as I just had a minute to skim thru. I did not immediately see anything about certification.

All appliances used in patient care areas shall be tested in accordance with 8.4.1.3 or 8.4.2.2.1.1 before being put into service for the first time and after repair or modification. Patient-care?related electrical appliances shall be retested at intervals determined by their normal location or area of normal use, but not exceeding the intervals listed below:
(1) General care areas ? 12 months
(2) Critical care areas ? 6 months
(3) Wet locations ? 6 months

There is also a section that states the manufacturer is to supply Installation and operating instructions [/B] Inspection and testing procedures [/B]Maintenance details.

Hope this helps. Chapter 8 in NFPA 99 has a lot of information relating.
