NY State, have we firgured it out yet?

Does anyone (Pierre, et al) have ANY info on when we will be adopting the new code cycle? Will it be 2005?
Do we have a new NYSRBC yet for one and two family?

If I told you what is going on in Albany at the moment in reference to the adoption of the current state code, you would not know whether to cry or laugh. Which translates to the answer is not available yet.

I have learned not to listen to anyone until I see something in writing.

On a DIY board I frequent a poster said that he was told by his inspector that as of June 1 we (NYS) adopted a new code and are now required to use AFCIs.
Then again, this "inspector" also said that even though he pulled his permit before this June 1 transition, and has done all the rough work, he will have to comply with the new code.
Right then I knew this guy's inspector was full of it.

June was supposed to be the date, but it has come and gone. There are some political issues they are dealing with (at the speed of light) and we may know some time before the end of summer.
