NYC addendums

NYC is still on the 2005 NEC with addendum's. They're supposed to be working on a new version using the 2008 NEC with addendum's. You can hold on to your 2011 for a couple of years. They're typically about 4 years behind the NEC code cycles.

Rob,
I would not say typically 4 years. NYC was supposed to adopt the '08 earlier this year. There are some, how shall we say it..."complications" in this cycle adoption. Since NYC has been referencing the NEC, I have seen them usually 1-1/2 years behind the cycle. Which is not bad these days.

Look at Conn. They are going to bypass the '08 and reference the '11 in 2011. Imagine, skipping a code cycle???
I can see mayhem in the conflict between the well educated and less well educated in Conn next year. :-?

You're right, although I did say about. :)

It's probably closer to 2.5-3 years. They adopted the 2005 NEC which was released in 2004 as part of the 2007 NYC electrical code which began enforcement near 2008.
