Anyone familiar with NYC FDNY FA test? If you 100% pretest all devices do they then again test ALL or just a portion? How would they know you pre-tested all devices?
Isn't the pre-test done with the electrical contractor and the fire alarm company only? Then once they ensure that everything works then the fire department does their test.

The primary responsible party is the electrical contractor. He/she is supposed to do the actual physical installation of the work and fill out a form A-433. It is always wise to conduct a pre-test. You don't want to roll the dice on the day of the acceptance test. In fact, NFPA 72 requires this. You fill out a Test Inspection report (they have a sample in the standard) and then you call the AHJ and do a Record of Completion (they have a sample for that too).
