NYC in wall power adapters for flat screen TV's

Is anyone familiar with the NYC code for In-Wall power adapters for flat screen tv's and what are acceptable devices. I see NYC metal box compliant versions however not sure where NYC adapted these as NYC is on NEC 2008 and these devices were not permitted until NEC 2014 ?

NYC does not prohibit PVC anymore, but just like in other jurisdictions the occupancy and building type are important to note.

This is the amendments to the 2008 NEC (they have not gone to 2011 or 2014 yet)
