I am taking the NYC Practical exam. I know a lot of the material but am unsure and need some practice. Is there anyone out there who has recently taken the course or who knows the material well that can help out? I'd be willing to compensate that person for their time.

Thank you

Have you taken an exam preparation course? Where did you find the practice exam?

Welcome to the Forum. :)

Thanks Infinity

I don't actually have a practice exam. Some people who have taken it have given me some idea on what's on the exam.

I know about the course but I just don't have the money right now to pay for it. It's not cheap.

Good Luck on the test.

If you don't pass, no worries, just gain from the experience.

Based on what I know and have seen, you really need to take Scott Cohen's practical course.

Budget for it. Its worth the money.

@Joe Villain,

Do you know what type of practical exercises do you have to preform for exam?

Are you located in NYC? Why is the 1968 code always referenced in the city code pages?

The 1968 building code had been the code enforced up until the last bunch of years, when NYC adopted the international code with amendments. This goes for electrical and building / Mech / Plumb / etc codes.

Now NYC goes by the 2011 NYC code which is based on the 2008 NEC http://www.nyc.gov/html/dob/html/codes_and_reference_materials/nec.shtml

It is adopting a new set of building / etc codes in the next month or so, which they call the 2014 codes. They currently use the 2008 Building Code. http://www.nyc.gov/html/dob/html/codes_and_reference_materials/2014_construction_code.shtml
