Not truly NEC, but related. I have someone who is hinting that I do not need an occupancy sensor for a small closet that has a single lighting fixture in it (school building). As in, an exception for only one fixture. What say ye? I've never heard of it. The reason I ask is, the existing switch is located on the outside of the door, so an occ sensor switch won't work..I am planning on adding a ceiling-mount sensor. FYI, the walls of the closet are largely glass, so the switch is still "line of sight" of the lighting.

As far as I know there is nothing in the NEC that requires an occupancy sensor for anything.
Thats probably in ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1
