Since I am an inspector and not an installer, I am asking the experts. My mayor has requested I look into occupancy switches at various locations to conserve (go green) at city hall. Most of the location are 3-way switches and one 4-way. The largest load on a single circuit appears to be 14 two bulb fixtures equalling about 900 watts. In you experience, what switch has the best performance for these applications. I want to be able to set up a bid for changing these out and need some guidance if possible. Unfortunately, with city government, cost is also an issue. Thanks to all.

I used Wattstopper with great success in a local library for the same reasons you're doing it. Depending on the size of the room, I used either wall switches or ceiling mount occ. sensors with remote power packs to get the job done. We also converted the fixtures from T12 to T8 at the same time.

I like to specify sensorswitch with the Cat 5 wiring. I don't have to draw a lot of specialized wiring details that will get wired wrong, and will be a pain to troubleshoot.

But I hate writing specs. with sole source vendors. I wish some other companies like wattstopper would come out with a similar product.
