How would you do motion switches in stairwell lighting, two 3 ways and a 4way, no neutral in the sw box, and cfl lamps. I am thinking I can turn each switch into a single pole but I guess I would need sensors with no override switch?

You need a neutral but you still can do it with 3 wires in each switch. As you stated the oc would be sp switches either one will activate the lights.

Tread;) easy on stairwell lighting.

If they are egress stairs I think they must be illuminated any time the building is occupied.

That said we would use as many low voltage sensors http://www.wattstopper.com/products/sensors/ceiling-or-wall-mount-sensors/ut-300.aspx#.VSMC4vCgsrc wired back to a power pack http://www.wattstopper.com/products/sensors/power-packs/bz-150.aspx#.VSMDHPCgsrc shutting off the circuit at the source. The switches would be blanked up.

However when I was going after those links I noticed they also have wireless sensors http://www.wattstopper.com/categories/sensors/wireless-sensors.aspx#.VSMDcvCgsrc that work in combination with wall switches. Might be worth checking out.
