OCP selection for services

I've always multiplied the feeder and service load calculation (Art 220) results by 1.25 to arrive at my minimum OCP, even though some of the examples infer that the calculation results is for the "service size". I need to verify which OCP value is the required one (the value for "service size" or the results times 1.25)?

Why would you multiply by 1.25? You will have already compensated for continuous loads in your article 220 calculations. Now, some additional capacity for future expansion should be allowed, but the amount of additional capacity that you allow is not dictated by the NEC.
