Odd - spec.

I see nothing wrong, and I believe that no laws (not even those of physics) are being broken. If their unit actually uses 11 KW of power at 240 volts (i.e., equivalent to 45 amps at 240V), and if they want us to provide a dedicated 75 amp circuit, then they are within their rights to say so in their cut sheets. We provide a 75 amp breaker and wires that are rated for 75 amps, and the machine never draws more than 45. So what?

And for my load calc? 11kw?
Uh-huh. The load is still 11kw, regardless of the manufacturer's requirement to run oversized wire and breaker. The load does not change. The manufacturer can't really change reality in the spec, but they can require you to overkill the circuit.
