Oddball CB screw heads

I mentioned the breaker terminal screws in a thread regarding Eaton BR panels--they will kind of accept a #2 square drive but loosely, and the square cutout makes using a flathead difficult, too. Square D breakers take a square drive nicely.

I've been using a #1 square for device terminal screws and the yoke screws as manufacturers have switched to those heads. It's much nicer than a philips or straight. I haven't tried an ECX yet. It seems like just another driver I have to carry around.

The Klein conduit-fitting driver should engage those flat-head breaker terminals well. I think you can get it without the reamer.

I lost track of the thread that had the complaint about slots on the CBs. You need one of these:

Works on devices and IEC equipment. Great in your torque screwdrivers, if you use them
It was the BR panel thread, post 37

Its an ECX driver. Klien makes a screwdriver and bits. Works great for device screws, ie the wire screws.
Also commonly called an electricians screwdriver. The square hole may provide some torque, but is IMO primarily there to keep the flat portion from sliding off to either side and to hold a free screw on the bit when starting it.
AFAIK the square drive (clutch tip) was invented to hold screws in place for automated furniture assembly machines.
