Something odd about this switchgear.

What does rest of it look like?

Perhaps is all ITE gear with a field applied Square D label?

similar but in different trade - couple years ago I connected some VRF heat pumps at a school. Come shipped with "Trane" labels on them, but inside the unit was "Carrier" labels to place over top of "Trane" label if the installer was a Carrier dealer instead of a Trane dealer. Same unit, two different names, pick which one is your favorite I guess. This installer applied the Carrier labels, and said the value went up when he applied the label:blink:

Master controller module still says Trane on it though:eek:hmy:

GE or Sylvania would ship you the competitions lamp if they didn't make one in that style. Don't recall which one.

Before all of the mergers and acquisitions that have boiled the electrical gear world down to 4 or 5 players, different companies frequently used one another to fill in "holes" in their product lines. It still goes on, but companies now "brand-label", so you may not realize it from the outside looks.

When I worked for Sq. D in the 80s, they didn't make safety switches larger than 600A. We SOLD them every day, but they were Westinghouse switches and sometimes if it was a rush, they didn't bother changing the name. The irony was, Square D actually INVENTED the device we call a "safety switch".

It's definitely Aware D gear. Only the 3000 amp main and a 3000 amp feeder to the buildings annex are ITE breakers. All of the others are Square D.

That's pretty old gear by the vintage of the ITE K-3000 frame breaker. Probably '60.
The reason may be that Sq D who built the gear at that time did not make a AFCB rated at 3K amps.
For instance we see older Kohler ATSs above a certain amp range with power panels (contactor assemblies) made by Zenith or ASCO married with the Kohler relay or SS logic. What ever makes the money.
