About how many 1" EMT conduits can you land in a standard 150 or 225A panel backbox? Practically speaking.

Need some more information to answer your question accurately. I'd guess about sixteen if you are only coming out of the top, but there are lots more options that can expand the number greatly.

No you could fit more but I would say that you can easily fit at least 16. I would have to do some math but the real maximum is probably about 30-1" in the top or the bottom.

If you had 5- 20 amp circuits in each pipe that is 16*5= 80.

A 20" wide 6" deep back box.
Your two new panles un known amps, guessing based on tap question. 400 amp feed thru 84 cir each.
If using Eaton you will loose some space.
Lots of way to get more if needed.

Yes that's how we order them. It's the only way to go when entering the panel with only raceways because the KO's are never in the right spot.
