I need to make an offset in wiremold channel, about 3/4". Has anyone done this and if so how? Is there a bender for it, by hand or use a EMT bender. AOW. (all opinions welcome)

Wiremold DOES make a bender...using an EMT bender will work, but it rounds the wiremold in places that aren't round from the factory.

I own the Wiremold bender, and it works like a charm. It does 200, 500, and 700. I have not seen one for 2000, but I heard a rumor that they did exist at one time. I line the bender with duct tape to protect the paint on the Wiremold. You can't do "flat" offsets in the Wiremold. Only front to back.

How many do you need to make? Before I owned the benders, I did offsets over my knee with fine results. Just couldn't make two that were side by side look identical, and that was a problem. For the occasional offset in 500 or 700, your knee works fine. I've seen bends in Wiremold done with the 1/2" EMT bender, but the Wiremold tends to roll, and you get a bit of a twisted offset often times.

Speaking of Wiremold tools, the 500 and 700 cutter are a dream to use. If you've never used the Wiremold chopper tool, the first time you use one you'll wonder how you ever did without it. They make a chopper for most all series's of Wiremold. I've got the 500, 700, 2000, and 3000 chopper tools. Slick.

I use to have a wiremold bender prior to purchasing the bender I used an emt bender it worked SO, SO, if you were real careful and the offset was small.

Thanks for the replies. I dont use wiremold much. I only need to make one offset so buying the tool is probably not an option. However the channel ain't cheap either. A messed up bend could get expensive;)

The truck I have at home today doesn't have the Benfield style 600B bender, but it does have the Wiremold hickey, which they don't even make anymore. I got it when I bought out an EC that retired. Here's the pictures of the Wiremold hickey anyhow. You can see that you swing the hook depending on whether you're doing 500 or 700....

The bender I had (30+ years ago) was more like an emt bender with a square slot in lieu of the typical half circle of an emt bender.
Yeah, that's the normal bender. That's the one I thought I was going to get a picture of, but not today. Maybe some other day, if anyone cares. All I had available today was the hickey.

I could not find a picture of the wiremold bender ...although I have used them and might even have one laying around someplace.

The best I could find for you are the instructions ~ but no product LOL.

EDIT:
Found some...if you wanna call them "pictures", not very good to show the "flat spot" we are talking about.

You CAN see that shoe is different from an EMT bender tho'

I've used an EMT bender on the small Wiremold (500 I think)

I have also but it doesn't do a very good job. As mentioned before it rolls the wiremold and it''s hard to get the offset straight.
