Kinda like what happened to electricmanscott. Addition to old house. New kitchen, master bed/bath, family room, laundry room. First time working for this GC, walk the job and take notes for the bid. He just wants code minimum. Gas for Water Heater, Furnace, and Range. Dryer is electric. Got it.

Sent a guy to install devices and fixtures yesterday. H.O. shows up with electric Range and tells my guy that the outlet needs to be "220".

The thing is, the Range sets about 4' in on a interior wall, under the horizontal furnace, low pitch roof. A cable would have to be run from new attic, through the small opening to the old attic, around and down into the new service. I say, "Install some CSST". :)

Uh oh. What did he say after you installed a 240 volt one?
I had a guy get hopping mad when he read the 250 volt rating on his newly installed welder receptacle. "I only need 220. You installed too many volts.". I got him educated pretty easily, but when you wrote that along with the other thread we have going, I remembered that time.
