Ok to lug neutral to panel frame in main?

Hello everyone. I friend of mine and I were having a discussion and I thought I’d try to get some clarity.

He was tying in a sub panel into his main breaker panel and didn’t have a spot to land the neutral. He asked me if it was ok to tap and thread a lug into the housing of the panel. At first it didn’t seem right but as i thought about it, being that the neutral is bonded to ground anyway, would this really be a problem? Thanks in advance for the opinions. FWIW I told him to just buy a lug that attaches to the existing ground/neutral bar.

Answer is no the metal panel enclosure cannot be used as a path for the neutral current.
