Hey guys, I'm trying to look up an old post of mine from the old forum. The problem is I don't know my "Old" member number. I search using my new forum number but it doesn't work. Any way of looking it up?

You can't get there from here. All of the member numbers in the Archived section have been changed to "unregistered."

Dave,
If you know the sceen name that you used in the old forum, place that in the "search words" box, and select "archived posts" in the search forum box.

I tried that myself, using Dave's previous member name, before concluding that "you can't get there from here." You can only search for a member by member number. But in the archives there are no more member numbers. They all say "unregistered," and that is not a number. You can only search for text (such as the member's displayed name) within the subject line or the body of the message itself.

Charlie,
Before I made my post I searched the archives using "resqcapt19" in the search word box and the search stopped at the 300 hit limit.

That is because other members used the "reply with quote" feature at least 300 times. This caused your screen name to be included in the quote. The search engine will not pick up your screen name in the "member name" block, only in the subject or message text.

To demonstrate what I am saying, try your search again. Select any one of the 300 hits. You will be taken to the text of a message, and your screen name will appear in the text. Then look above that entry on the same thread. You may find one or more of your replies on that thread. But the search engine did not detect your reply, because your screen name was in the member name position, not within the text of a posting.
