I ran into a old 1850s house that is currently being remodeled. One of the last things to do was to redirect what looked like old knob and tube wires. after further review they were individual wires fastened to the sides of the joice with wood staps, no porceling insulaters ect. My assumption is this was once a old Edison DC Delco system that was then converted to A.C. there is wire and joints everywhere. The owner is curious - and so am I - about how these sytems worked / the dates and any more info about them. Or where to find it. We have deemed the wire unsafe do to craking and looked like it got hot over time do to over load. This house is located right in the city so a farm house it is not. Any information would be great.
