I have the all the Omron docs. I'm looking for a good reference for function block programing. I'm a Allen Bradley PLC trained person, the new job uses many Omron PLC's and includes function block programming.

Omron's ladder logic stile isn't to hard to follow. I must admit a fondness for the AB ladder logic stile. I have done some Fortran and C programming in years past, yes I learned to program in the late 70's early 80's.

What I'm looking for is a book that you have used or read, I have googled many also. The cost of a great book isn't a object, but I hate to pay $200ish for a crap book. Thanks in advance...

Like youreslf I am also a allenbradley guy that also deals with omron's, but I will say we do not utilize the function block features in the omrons honestly didn't know they had this capability; although we do use alot of them in our clx platform. Are you looking for a book strickly dealing with omron function blocks or just function blocks in general?

I think the easiest way to think about 'function blocks' as macros, or subrutines.
