Dear Mike,
Good Day,
I'm reviewing a design right now. I have a conversation with the Electrical Designer regarding the size of generator for Fire pump motor and jockey pump. The generator supply only emergency lighting and Fire Pump and Jockey pump. Utility supply reliability of power is an issue. The design is multiple source one from utility other from standby generator. My question to the designer which he cannot provide an answer is that even though we have multiple source the utility source is not reliable . What would be the size of generator should it be based on locked rotor or running current only plus the emergency lighting?
I'm confuse of article 695.3(D)(1) what do normal starting of fire pump means? as far as I know starting current and lock rotor current of fire pump is the same. Please advise.
Thank you,
Nogskie
