I have a GC telling me our conduits and MC Cables must exit the wall at a 90 degree angle in order to be properly sealed. Does anyone know of any supporting documents for this?

I'm assuming he's talking about fire stopping around the cables and conduits. The methods of fire stopping would be part of the instructions from the firestop materials. I've never heard of such a thing and would add that plumbing pipes (especially sloped drain pipes), ducts, and electrical conduits do not always penetrate fire rated walls at 90°.

I'm with infinity on this. Just how much of an angle are we talking about? Ninety to forty-five degrees is probably OK, but if you start to get shallower than that, you may have trouble properly installing the firestop system.

Ask him what system they're using and then you can see if there is really an angle restriction.

My guess the concern would be fire stopping where the radius of the 90 is in the wall surface as opposed to just the diameter of the conduit passing through the wall surface.

You could be right. I believe I've seen restrictions on this sort of thing.
