Online reviews, bad one

Had a long time customer tell me there was a bad review online about me, she got a new phone and looked me up on google and found it.
Build zoom and ripoff report had the same word for word complaint. Said I took a deposit to rewire a house and never came back or answered calls. I did a search on the rip off report company and it sounds like a scam company as you can pay to remove stuff on the site.
Build zoom I called and they removed it, the rip off I can't get anywhere with.
I don't do house rewireing jobs, I typically only do referral work and I never get deposits.
I'm more of service work, with a few new house jobs a year for a builder friend of my father that I've known my whole life.
 
I guess unless you really depend on second party online services to get you jobs, you probably shouldn't really get too concerned about it.

Anybody that can't understand the true credibility of such reviews (good or bad) isn't necessarily a good customer anyway.

Not to concerned, the complaint was from 2014. It more or less just pisses me off.

ripoff report will remove your booboo for from $5k~$100k.
depends on what they think they can shake out of you.

if you google them, note the consumer reports page on them.

if you google them, and start scrolling thru the pages and pages
about them, and big ed, the founder, a pretty clear profile of a
grifter starts to clearly form.

I've been doing some digging on them, they probably put these things out there to extort money from people.

So does Home Adviser, Angies list... they are just legal "pimps", difference is they won't go out and beat up or even kill a bad homeowner or a contractor that moves in on their territory that don't work under them.

What to do depends on how much it bothers you. If it's really getting under your skin then as Copper suggested have an attorney send a nasty letter.
