OP needed on proposed sub-panel w/i 6 ft of main panel?

Sorry for the loss of memory but I can't find my answer. I have a standard 200 amp fused (CB) exterior mobile home panel mounted on a panel frame and will be adding a 100 amp sub-panel six feet (adjacent) to the main panel. The sub-panel has a 100 main for its branch circuits. Do I need to provide over current protection for that six foot feeder and take two more breaker spaces or can I just come off the taps at the bottom of the buss (after disconnecting means) and feed the sub? I need to feed several small out buildings with limited power and lighting in the future and the 200 only gives me 6-8 branch circuits. Thanks for any help and any article references would be appreciated. BTW we have no inspectors in our area and permits are unheard of.

See 240.21(B)(1) regarding feeder taps not over 10' long. The bus of the 200A panel is considered a feeder.

240.21(B)(5) is for outdoor taps - there is no length limitations as long as the tap conductors are outdoors, tap conductor must land at a single overcurrent device, can enter a building if disconnect is near point of entry - similar to how it works for service conductors.
