What type of guarding could/should I do to prevent accidental contact with an open bussway. The bussway is located about 6 inches off of the floor and powers a cart that moves back and forth at slow speed. It is 208v and is covered on three sides. Sounds like the bussway was designed for installation in a restricted area (or overhead?), otherwise it would include full covers/protection. The best guard is probably a chain-link fence around the path of the cart. Does the cart have any sensors to stop if it hits something?

How large of an area is actually exposed? I see that you stated its approximately 6" from the floor but no other dimensions are listed. My first thought when I initially read it was to fabricate a sheet metal or equivelant cover that could be mounted on the exposed side. I'm not if this is feasible due to the fact that only one dimension was given.
