Does anyone know where I can find an illustration of what happens when a neutral is open on a multi-wire circuit that the neutral is being shared?

I want it to help explain this to one of my helpers.

Thanks, Jerry B.

480 posted one before, it went step by step as to what happens and why. Hopefully he'll post it again for you.

Here is an illustration from an old member Ed MacLaren.

Notice that it does not introduce 240 volts across the load with the greater resistance, the voltage dropped across any load is a function of ohms law

"How old is he?!?!" :)

He was a member here before he retired as an instructor and I'm not sure what his age was, after he retired he disappeared and IMO is greatly missed, he provided some outstanding educational materials.

He and Bennie had many excellent discussions/debates that were enlightening to all of us.

I miss them both.
