Operating motor with sensor instead.......

I have a 230 3 phase motor that is operated by a regular contact and on/off switch. I want it to operate off a sensor, when there is nothing on the table the motor will run. Can I just replace the switch with a AC 2 wire proximity sensor(20-264vac) or is it more complex then that. The motor runs a garmet conveyor. Thanks

Pretty much it. I would just put it in parallel with the switch and keep the switch in place so if the prox switch has problems they can still run it. Verify the amperage rating with the prox switch and contactor coil. Some prox switches can't handle even that small of current, you may just need to go through a small ice cube relay for controls.
