Operating rooms wet location/receptacles

I was wondering do any inspectors enforce the 'weather resistant' type 15 ,20 amp 125 -250 non locking type receptacle with the weather proof cover in operating rooms that are listed as a wet location with IPS???

I have never seen this enforce this way, (and probably for the better,nurses/Doctors struggling with the covers) but under a technicality of 408.8 NEC 2008, this would be required since the operating area would be wet location if the hospital designated it so. 517 does amend alot of things, but I do not believe they amended the 408.8 requirements.

So what's happening in your area?? Have inspectors even thought about that??

406.8. I do not enforce this unless the hospital wants it. However, I read somewhere that this would not be required in areas where it may get splashed by fluids rather than be in normally wet or damp area. I read that IAEI article I'm assuming this query comes from. I can't remember (somewhere in 517 I'm sure) where I read that. I agree it would be unsafe.
