Operation time and duty cycle for AC 120Volt 60Hz, 1.5 amp motors

I purchased two (2) WORKSHARP Electric motor knife sharpeners 120 volt AC 60Hz 1.5 amp. These two motors are supposed to be identical, however one is lighter than the other in weight and the operation time for the lighter sharpener is rated for 60 minutes. The second sharpener has the same electrical specs except it is rated for continuous duty. My question is, has the manufacturer gone to a cheaper motor that has less windings, therefore lighter in weight. I am not familiar with the different duty cycles for the above mentioned motors. Could someone supply me with the different duty cycle designations. Thanks very much and have a nice evening and Holdiay.

To attain a UL listing, UL requires that if a motor is not rated for continuous duty, it must state the time limit on the nameplate. So most likely they wanted to make a cheaper version and understanding that the expected use of a sharpener is not continuous, they cheapened the motor, as per what ActionDave said.
