Just got the new version of QB 2008, what is your opinion of it?
Me personally, I don't care much for it. Takes to long to load, back up file is 3 times larger than other versions I had, restoring data to another computer is a PITA and to many hoops to jump through just to back up your data.
Why do software makers have to make things way to complicated just to preform simple tasks?
Just like Vista, any OS that needs to be on a DVD disk instead of a CD disk has WAY to much garbage on it!!!!
OK I'm done ranting now!

I just upgraded and wished I waited for the bugs to be worked out.

I noticed a problem in payroll that would sometimes cause the paycheck to be off by a penny or two to what it should have been. I know you might say big deal but in the accounting world that is a very big deal. I called the phone support and of course they assumed that it was my error, (which I absolutly understand because i'm sure for them its true 99% of the time), but i explained that i have used quickbooks since "99" and this problem never showed up before. They sugested several things but none of them worked and they still based it on me being wrong. Then I made them try a test paycheck in the previous version and then in 2008. They finally agreed that I was right and there was a problem. Now all they said was it MIGHT be fixed in an update. Still no solution for now.

I have also noticed problems when inputing items into an invoice. normally you type the item and quickbooks narrows the drop down list to the possible items as you type. But for some reason it ignores keystrokes and also gets stuck on item branches that may precede the item branch you are looking for.

I recomend waiting a few more months for them to workout the bugs.
