A search of the forums for "Stetzer" turns up 7 threads. A quick read of two of them quickly turns up the words "snake oil".

You could look at it that way. Only instead of correcting for a bad phase power factor it corrects for a bad distortion power factor.

Either way the only real gain is in the small IR losses within the site itself (after the meter) associated with the higher currents.

Ha-- They only cost $35 and plug in but you need around 20 for a standard house. What is a standard house?

I have talked to the guy. Interesting fella. It was part of a custom home I wired for an "electrically sensitive" home owner. He claims that electricity in the house is not the problem but "noise" from electronic power supplies and his filters are supposed to cure the problem.

I once had a guy come to my office to try to set us up as a distributor for a competitive piece of useless crap like that (Green something...). He spent 90% of the time I gave him bad mouthing the Stetzerizer filter. I was giggling inside the whole time because to me, it was like listening to a fox trying to convince chickens that HIS protection service was better than the wolf's protection service. Either way it wasn't going to turn out well for the chickens, so what difference would it make?

I was hearing him out because my partner thought maybe we should get in the business as a side line. What a load of crap it was. Their REAL business is in setting up a MLM distributor network (like Amway) where the distributors all buy inventory and "training materials" for exorbitant prices, then when you find out you can't sell them they refuse to take anything back, unless you get some other schmuck to sign up, they give you a piece of HIS action.
