Ok quick question:
If you have a manual 200 amp/208 volt/3 phase transfer switch, and you want to connect a 10,000 watt portable generator, where does it state that you need to install a power inlet ? I know that all the single phase manual transfer switches have the power inlet installed. Is this a IEE standard?

I don't know of a NEC requirement that mandates an "inlet" be installed. 406.6(B) prohibits you using a male plug with energized prongs.

I agree with Augie, there is no NEC requirement for an inlet.

Not the ones I have installed.
