Question:
Is there any regulatory documentation from OSHA that specifically addresses a standard for portable electric power tool testing? OSHA 1910.303(b)(1) is very vague. I have been tasked with developing an electrical safety program wherein I will be responsible for validating and documenting the mechanical and electrical integrity of all portable electrical power tools and cords. I understand that there are a few manufacturers like Biddle-Megger who sell test equipment specifically for this situation...but I can't find any regulatory documentation which specifically outlines testing periodicity and compliance measures.
Can anyone help me out?
