We are doing a davita dialysis and the inspector required a ups or generator. Is generator or ups required for a limited care facility?

I don't believe a dialysis center can be classified as a limited care facility by definition. However, you ARE required to provide a essential electrical system, at the least. You may also have critical care areas, thus addtonal requirements.

Are there not engineered doucments that were submitted to the building department before commencment of work?

Yes, by definition, a limited care facility provides care on a 24 hour basis (overnight stays).

If its not a limited care facility, you may only need battery powered egress lights.
