out door panel?

I have a panel on a porch that is under roof screened in sun room type situation.The panel is 3' from outside edge of porch.If I replace the panel will it be outdoor type or would I be able to do the indoor type.I read 312.2a 408 still gray area... thanks It has a indoor type now if that matters.

IMO, unless it is sealed off from the weather, it has to be in a NEMA 3R enclosure.

This would be considered a "damp" location.

2002 NEC
Location, Damp. Locations protected from weather and not subject to saturation with water or other liquids but subject to moderate degrees of moisture. Examples of such locations include partially protected locations under canopies, marquees, roofed open porches, and like locations, and interior locations subject to moderate degrees of moisture, such as some basements, some barns, and some cold-storage warehouses.
