When bidding work out of town. Whats are some ways to ensure efficiency? What are some of the things you ask GC before heading out to jobsite? I would think its not efficient to show up with 3 man crew and site isnt prepared for any work to be performed for electricians. You can always count on GC to stay on schedule with sequence of events so electricians know when to show up. Also if GC is finally ready for you to show up, you have previous engagements that wont let you show up when GC is ready because they are now running late with project

How far "out of town"? Will you be commuting each day or staying somewhere close to the job?
Make sure the GC will pay if they say it's ready and you get out there to discover it's not; that time and travel isn't free.
Unless you trust the GC, I'd ask for pictures that show locations are ready for your work, and that, say, some tin-knocker hasn't put a duct where a panel is supposed to go.

"count on GC to stay on schedule" :ROFLMAO:  :(

We have a flat $1200 mobilization fee for return trips when required due to other trades not being complete or provided materials not being on site . Works pretty well at keeping GC’s from calling with their fingers crossed.

You should know the questions to ask pertaining to your particular project though to determine if the site is ready.

I meant specifically only you would know what to ask.... if you're there for site work, are the tanks buried, are the fuel lines done where you need to cross, are the dispenser bases marked out, etc.... ? I just assumed you're still doing new fuel station work.

Also for bidding purposes you'd need to account for each required trip in your cost. I figured 0.80/mi plus the hourly wages riding in the truck, and per diem for overnight. i just realized I'm still figuring 0.80/mi I've got to jack that up immediately.
