Hello to all! Purchased a Lithonia open area light (Compact flourescent 65 watt) this is designed to be screwed right to house with lags. They also sell a 1-1/2 inch ell with bracket that is designed to mount directly to house then you just attach light to that instead, giving you the option to mount light away from house about 12 inches or so. I purchased the ell. You can feed the light directlyt or feed the light through the ell which is what I want to do via sealtite. I,m runningf a stick of 1/2 inch IMC up wall and want to transition to sealtite right through ell to feed light. Here is my dilemma. Do I just stick the sealtite right in the ell and forget about it? Or do I special order a 1-1/2 inch to 1/2 inch RE with connector to make it up tite? I called lithonia tech support and they said I could just ductseal the 1-1/2 inch openinbg wher the 1/2 inch sealtite goes through. This light will be 12 feet off the ground. The ell would naturally drain to ground so no issue there. but I,m just not comfortable with a loose sealtite going in an 1-1/2 inch ell with nothing but some duct seal. I,m i overthinking this? Also isn,t there some kind of code requirement that woulkd require the RE? No inspection here. just want to do job right. Thanks to all for comments

Not sure about the lithonia but some of these come with a small plate that is used to reduce to a 1/2" hole. You should have noticed it. Use a piece of carflex and run it on up. Make sure you have an equip ground.

I haven't used the flor yet so maybe things are different.
What is the cat #? I may have a place for these.

Thanks for your reply. Lithonia Outdoor area light. Mod#OALS10 65F 120 P LP and the mounting arm Mod# is OMA. I,m going straight from IMC and transitioning to 1/2 inch sealtite through OMA mounting arm. It would just be nice if they supplied a plate like you said, but not the case with this mounting arm. bad design in my opinion. i,ll make it work for sure but for those buying this stuff with no electrical experience, I would say that it is not user friendly for sure.
