Is it still true that an outdoor light illuminating a path of egress away from the building needs two sources? And is it still true that simply having all luminaires on the emergency branch does not satisfy the requirement owing to their still existing a single point of failure risk.
I believe the rule is the same on indoor paths of egress. But is seldom a problem given that you would expect to have both Normal branch and Emergency Branch powered fixtures along the path. Outdoors however, you might only have a a wall pack above the door on the Emergency branch and no other fixtures, hense the problem.
If this is still a requirement where is it? Is it in the Life Safety Code
