When outdoor sw.gear gets installed and conduits are swept into the gear (located on a conc. Pad) does the conduit usually ?stub? into the gear, or does the pvc conduit typically get installaed flush with the top of the pad? Also what would you typically see as the minimum cl spacing for conduits? We are looking to utilize however in order to fit in the conduit opening in the bottom of the gear with 4?c.?s and the quantity we would have a 5? center to center spacing with only 1? between at the equipment, typically we shoot for 6.5? center to center, just curious from an installation standpoint.

Depends on the gear

Depends on the gear

Depends on the gear and how it is sealed with the concrete. I always design or require a minimum of 4" of stub-up of the conduit out of the pad so the conduit does not turn into a "drain". If the gear does not allowfor this I normally add additional framing underneath - actually I normally add the additional frame anyhoo so the bottom of the gear does not rot off. YMMV

Mike,

We leave the PVC a couple of feet long ( above the pad ) and then cut them down later

when the gear shows up. You know how those concrete guys are! We space them just

enough for 'bell ends' when things get tight. Don't forget the CEE :)

I think the NEC requires 3" stub above top of pad.
