I want to install UG Type UF-B 12/2 w/gnd direct buried from a 60 amp subpanel to a JB and then EMT my way to several WP receptcles up on an outdoor stage.

I'd like to install a junction box to change from one wiring system to the other.

Per the NEC it says rainproof, raintight or watertight equipment meet the requirements of weatherproof. So I assume I look for a weatherproof junction box? Thanks.

Re: outdoor junction box

I'm one of the least educated guys out here, so I don't know what some of your acronymns refer to but I do beleive your answer is correct. Maybe you should wait for someone to confirm that though.

Re: outdoor junction box

If possible i would use pvc rather than emt and use a pvc junction box.Junction box would be better if it was not in the ground.
Do not forget gfci protection

It is permanent. UF-B is underground feeder cable, and emt is electrical metallic tubing, and jb is junction box.

Re: outdoor junction box

Yeah: and WP is weather proof, it was JB and WP, it came to me later.
