Got a customer who really wants to keep his outdoor pendant light/chandelier, but the cable might be worn out. It's the style that weaves through a chain like a chandelier. Does anyone know what type of cord i could use for that? Ive been looking around and cant find a suitable lamp cord to use outdoors.

Thanks!

I have a couple of concerns. If it was my home I would like to use a cable that is sunlight & weather resistant even if direct sunlight does not hit it. Also would be concerned about animals possibly chewing on the what us o!d timers call zip cord ( Hal was kind to post its type SPT-2 ) . Read that mice like to chew on Honda wiring due to its plant based insulation which good luck trying to have it repaired under warranty ( or so article stated ).

Yeah so after a minute of looking around I decided to go with sjoow uv and moisture resistant. It's the only cable I can really find that could be exposed in the chain like that

Yes, but SJOOW is round. I was looking for something that would match what the old cord was. Of course, we don't know how big the chain or fixture is or where it is- under a porch or exposed. So, yeah, if you can use a round 18/2 that would be a better choice, but depending, that black SPT-2 will probably last longer than the original.

Nah I agree I was looking for something like the original as well but I gave up. It's high enough up I don't think they'll complain about the sjoow. Now that I'm seeing it it seems to blend in pretty well
