What are the regulations regarding the use of outdoor cable indoors (this is a low voltage application)? I am looking for specific insight where outdoor cable is used completely inside - from an IDF to a point on a ceiling on the same floor. If the cable is in conduit is this acceptable? Does the entire length of cable need to be within conduit or does the 50' allowance (from the end of the conduit) apply?

All outdoor low voltage cable I know of cannot be used indoor since the cable does not have a vertical flame rating--- has not been tested for indoor use. You must terminate outdoors and enter the building with suitable wire.
What is the 50' allowance?

it might be a good idea to look under the code section that applies to see if your cable is permitted.
